I’m an album guy, queueing up whole albums most of the time rather than individual tracks. No complaints whatsoever on the queue control Plexamp offers right now, but I would love to discuss a different representation of albums coming up in the queue.
Plexamp 4.4
Currently playing are tracks from Where the River Goes by Wolfgang Muthspiel. Up Next are the remaining tracks of the album. I’ve also added the album The Prepaid Piano by Andrew Pekler, which is shown as two tracks in the queue. A similar album option finishes the queue window.
Alternative
Inspired by the now defunct Rdio streaming service’s macOS app, visually and semantically I would love to see a different way of the Andrew Pekler album coming up. Here’s how Rdio did it.
The currently playing album is still shown as individual tracks in the queue which makes sense as we’re now “inside its world” so to speak, but upcoming albums stay together as units to control in the queue (to remove or to reorder for example) rather than a list of the individual tracks that make up the album.
