I–along with other users/subscribers to services such as Vidangel, clearplay, or even VLCleanplayer–think such a feature would be of great benefit to Plex. Here are my thoughts at to why…
This idea comes as a result of Vidangel currently going through a lawsuit (something to do with content/licensing), in the scenario that companies–like Vidangle–are shut down, I predict a large void will grow in the market of parents looking for ways to shelter their kids from content they deem unfit for their young. Plex could fill the void with the ability for parents to create and/or obtain through 3rd party means, scripts that the Plex Media Player could read/follow to ‘create’ these filtered movies/video view experiences.
I’m not asking that Plex start providing filtered movies, but a means to play media whilst following a script (created/obtained through personal or 3rd party means) to mute and or jump through a movie/show (automating the “close your eyes” and “cover your ears” ideology… realistically, it would be automating the “position mouse pointer here, click to skip/scrub through the video” or “clicking/dragging the volume down at this moment of the video”)
Could this be a future function of Plex?
