- Write down as much information as you can, be descriptive. Think how you would explain this feature to someone who has never thought of it.
I’d like to request a screensaver for plexconnect (Apple TV/ATV 3) and for Apple TV/ATV 4 systems that would show the contents of Plex Photo album(s) and would do so when listening to plex music or when being idle and not watching a Plex Movie or Plex TV Show. It would be nice if one could choose a Plex Photo album as the source. The user should be able to define the following screensaver settings:
- screensaver style: e.g. “flying pictures” or fading styles
- time a photo will be diplayed
- “only show photos from the last XX weeks”
- time before launching the photo screensaver
- Show only the (1,2,3,4 or 5) star rated photos
- Keeping in mind that the majority of people using Plex are not advanced users, is this a feature that only you and a small number of other advanced users would use or is it something that will be used by a majority of the userbase?
In my personal opinion every Apple TV user would use this feature over the Apple TV builtin screensaver. The Plex screensaver would perfectly tie to the Plex Camera Upload feature and would make use of it.
- Can your mother, father, wife, husband, sister, brother, grandmother, or grandfather use this feature without a CS degree?
Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes. My 16 months old daughter can watch herself in the builtin Apple TV screensaver. I can see no limits in using a Plex screensaver. It’s a benefit for everyone owning an Apple TV.
Having searched the forums before posting there are somewhat similar screensaver feature requests - however mine was meant to be far from being a duplicate post or duplicate request. Let’s not destroy this feature request by discussing the words somewhat and similar. I you like it, then like it. Thank you.
