Feature Request - Select All

Hello,

Perhaps this has been added alread - it has been a while since I played with Plex. I’d really love a select all option under folders - so I can edit specific tags - e.g. genre or collection.

I see there is an deselect all but it would be great if there was an easy way of selecting hundreds of files within a folder with a single click.

Sorry for the newbie problems but when I click on the feature suggestion forum in the response, I get - Oops! That page doesn’t exist or is private.

As for the tips in the response, I must be going about it wrong - here is what I’m doing.

I click on folder view folders

Then I click on a folder - e.g. action

Then I can only seem to click on the check in front of the movie - and can select 1 page of items

I don’t see a way to view them side by side but only in a single row at a time.

There isn’t a way, but the same procedure applies. Select the first, scroll down as far as you want, hold “Shift” key, and select last. Everything in between should be selected.

Thanks - I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong -

I select the first -

I hold down on the shift key

I scroll to the bottom of ALL the movies in that folder (while still holding the shift key) by using the slider on the right side of the page.

I select the last item while still holding the shift key - I get 2 items selected (the first and the last)

I can select all the items within a single page - about 8 items using that procedure but as soon as I scroll beyond a page it does not let me select the group.

It doesn’t seem to be a number limit - rather a page limit as I can’t select 16 by going to the next page any more than I can select 300 by going to the end.

I did find a way that seems to work but is very touchy for some reason. if you don’t use the scroll bar on the right but use the scroller in your mouse and scroll through lots of pages which I realize is very time consuming, you can seem to select all of them - takes a few tries for some reason. Don’t hold the shift while scrolling - only when you select the last item.

I sincerely appreciate the quick response but definitely would like to recommend a feature upgrade to have a select all if that doesn’t sound like I’m being an ingrate.

Oh, that’s right, there’s a problem that was reported last month.

Plex doesn’t read in the whole list when you open a large library. It only loads a few at a time, so you’re not waiting forever to open the library. If you notice, when you scroll down the page, new entries get loaded up as you scroll.

In order for the mass selection feature to work with a long list, you have to scroll through the pages slowly enough that Plex has a chance to read in the whole list. Once it has read the whole list, you’ll be able to do what I’ve been telling you.

Hopefully that will get fixed, but for now that’s what we’ve got.
