[Feature Request] Set playlist item start and end points.

I just wrote out a much longer version of this but then I clicked the “ask a question” on the top right instead of the one at the bottom and it was erased so this is going to be brief.

Essentially I’d like to set in a playlist for each item the time when the item should start playing and time when it should go to the next item. For example, in a movie, I would set the start time to after the opening credits and the end time to when the end credits begin. This would make movie playlists especially more effective when using auto play.

This could be implemented directly in the playlist section of plex web by putting an icon on the entry for each item allowing you to bring up the dialog to set these two time codes. A nice feature to have with this would be a visible trim window where you could actually see the frame of the start and end points but that isn’t strictly necessary.

Thanks.

Really cool idea! Honestly, with playlists around for a while now, there are tons of features just waiting to be unlocked, like smart sorting options within lists, playlist sharing, playlists for trailers only, cues and personal live channels… Fingers crossed something is coming at some point  For people with lots of content like myself, advanced movie and series playlists are the way to go. If Plex want to improve the user experience further (and be ahead of the competition), that’s where I’d start.
