One feature that I’m missing from Plex is a functional plugin that automatically downloads subtitles and shows them in the OSD of the clients. Currently this does not work on my system. The ability to manually search for subtitles from within the client OSD and store those subtitles in the media library would be much appreciated as well. I thought I’d post this request here in the official request forum, and give my vote to this as a lifetime subscriber.
One of the few reasons why I’m still sticking with xbmc
(Other two reasons are cinema experience and pseudotv)
Glad I’m not the only one in favour of this feature. Let’s get this the development priority it deserves, and voice our support/wish for it!
Subtitles do receive a healthy dose of attention (a very multinational development team!), so I doubt my point is too terribly critical...
But there is-and-has-been a call for sub-plug functionality for sometime (Subtitle plugin in PMC), and in general, you want to be careful not to split votes off with competing requests. You might want to visit that thread and make suggestions to beef it up to meet your needs rather than start a whole new request. After all, that request already has 330 votes, and will attract more attention than this one :).
I'll lock down this thread, but if you feel your request is substantially different feel free to PM me to argue the point...
