Would you like to have a subtitle sync option on the web player?
Something like that:
Please click the ‘like’ on the first post if you voted ‘yes’ or ‘yes definitely’. The voting itself is unimportant. You vote for the feature by clicking ‘like’ (bottom of first post).
Read the rules.
This should be there from the start, please click the like button and @poratfamily remove your useless vote please
How many votes are needed? I really miss this.
My whole Plex setup is automated except when subtitles are out of sync; please let a user pick other subtitles that are available on OpenSubtitles, or notify me that a subtitle is wrong through Plex.
Not sure why this basic feature is still not added.
I use Plex basically on iOS, its a shame that i just can’t sync subtitles when its wrong. Please add this ASAP…
I think they would probably be in breach of a lot of local disability laws by not properly supporting subtitles if anyone took out a case against them. The delay sync is a must. A FR like this should be top of the list to deliver.
@elan, can you personally take notice of the Feature request, especially as the Vote for ‘yes’ exceeds the ‘likes’.
Whenever I have a .mkv file with subtitles, Plex will also download a .srt file. The downloaded .srt file is synced for the first minute or so but gradually gets worse as the show plays. This happens consistently. The embedded subtitle file works fine. I have to switch between the downloaded .srt file and the embedded subtitles to get properly working subtitles.
Synology Video Station allows to downlod and select subtitles just before playing the video as well. And yes, the sync capability is a must on portable players, possibly less cumbersome than on smart TVs, where you have a side menu. When synching you need to see the video fully and be able to adjust the delay.
Yes I vote for this, my wife and I use a lot of subtitles and it would be great to have this option as well as better overall support for subtitles: hot swap, no transcode for just subtitles or at least an option to choose between burning the subtitles in image or an overlay a la VLC
Dialogue audio is sometimes way too quiet and background noise too loud. Subtitles help in this instance and it would be great to see them better supported.
This would make Plex so much better !!!
Please add this feature.
All to often my family complains that subtitles are out of sync, causing me to manually need to fix them. I’d absolutely love this feature for Apple TV and iOS.
Voted for this feature, subtitles right now don’t really sync for me, would like to have the option to select from multiple sources.
Thank you.
After 2 years and becoming a plex pass subscriber I still keep running back to kodi just because of the subtitles. Come on Plex team!!! Get your stuff together? Why so much hate on subtitles when it’s one hell of a requested feature, to have better support for search and timing?
sometimes it seems plex devs lost their paths.
isn’t it a very basic feature of a media player to adjust sync of audio/video/subtitle?
good old PHT and openPHT still have this and that’s another reason why I prefer PHT over PMP.
seriously, what’s wrong with you, plex?
I’m astounded that after years of people asking for this essential feature, it is STILL not included in Plex. I use subtitles all the time and all or nearly all of them are out of sync. Currently the only way to fix this is by downloading the subtitle file and burning it to the video file manually. This is simply ridiculous. I don’t care about half the stuff Plex is spending time developing, but I do care about this. It looks like Plex is just not listening.
This is what i really need
i’ve synced subtitles with kodi for years… i kind of regret buying plex pass lifetime now when I see this has been a missing feature for years
Please god implement this. Only reason why I still use kodi over plex is the subtitle sync issue!ahhhhh
