My plasma is highly susceptible to image retention, a couple of my feature requests relate to that:
- Screensaver support or a dimmer, similar to PHT. The Xbox slightly dims the screen after 10 minutes of inactivity but I think this is actually quite a long time period in terms of causing IR issues and it's not very dark.
- Hide or change the opacity of the Plex logo after a certain period of time. This will definitely get burned into my display. I believe Microsoft may be adjusting this in a future Xbox update for the 'X' logo that shows in the top right, please see one related thread here. As mentioned above the default screensaver takes 10 minutes to come on which is causing some issues.
- Better support for Direct Play (I know we rely heavily on Microsoft for this)
- Channels
- Better subtitle support (.srt without transcoding)
Would be nice to have an App Channel for the OneGuide, could actually have a bunch, one for on deck tv, on deck movies, recently aired tv, recently aired movies, recently added, etc.
I'd like to be able to go right or left to switch episodes instead of having to back out to select the next episode. This is possible on PHT so I'd love to see this on the Xbox One.
Overall, I am very happy with the app! I've been waiting since the rumors started back in April and this is an answer to my prayers, so thank you Plex team!
As far as what's next, obviously I'd like to see my other libraries (music),access my channels, and view extras / trailers. Those all seem like things that should eventually make it over, but as far as actual new features go; I really like the options menu on movies that gives options like "More by *Sam Raimi*" or "More with *Ben Affleck*" but I wish I could filter my library by actor/director and not have to find a movie I know someone's a part of and go through the sub menu. On that note, it would be nice to have instead of just "Browse" as an option, for it to say "Browse by" and then give the option to select by Date added, Resolution, Actor, etc. Also, voice as an input could change the way I use Plex, as Kinect is awesome. Some voice input ideas that Tyson had teased that I was most excited for: "Xbox, Turn on subtitles." "Xbox, Change the language to French." "Xbox, Go to the start of the movie." "Xbox, Go to the start of this chapter." "Xbox, Go back 30 seconds."Lastly, I really like the "Top movies by ..." and "Top movies in *genre*" sections on the dash, but it would be really neat if there was a drop down menu with it that let me pick the particular genre/actor/director and have it show me the top movies in that category (based on Rotten Tomato score maybe?)
I hope I don't sound at all unappreciative, as I LOVE the app. Once the rest of the basics are packaged in, it will almost definitely be my favorite client, so thanks again, Plex!
(I second One Guide integration as well, almost forgot :))
1) I'd like the Recently Added view back and less sorting by individual episodes and more filters.
2) I use XBMC a lot and didnt realize how much I relied on the system clock to see what time it is. So I'd like to suggest a clock in the main window somewhere.
3) Change of the voice prompt/words .. Im already sick of saying "Select #", "More #", "Go Back", "Next Page" and "Previous Page".
4) I'd really like a basic file/folder view where I can sort by date added and see folders/shows and open the show to see a list of avaialble episodes with the date added listed per show and a marking show watched/unwatched. I like the slick interface and all of the photos/posters but it can be a lot to sift through especially with voice commands, a basic text/folder list would be a relief IMHO.
5) I had a show with a single 5.1 audio track that was playing only the background music.. I thought it was for effect in the show but it became obvious that there was no dialog audio being played. I switched over to XBMC and it played perfectly with all of the dialog.
be great to be able to go home with a button or a menu.
Or to the top of a TV show, if it has multiple seasons/eps if you go into recently aired if you missed an episode you have to go out, and all the way through browse, to get to the season folder.
I'm so happy we finally have an official app!! As far as a wish list of features goes (outside of DTS audio which is technically a Microsoft issue), all I would add are the following:
- Movie extras and trailers
- Tv themes.
I'm sure they will be added in due course anyway. Awesome work to get the PlexBox One app in to the wild, the community thanks you :)
i would love to be able to send volume up and down to reciever via d-sub up and down, one remote less when xbox already starts and shutdown my reciever.

You can buy the media remote, I use it all the time for watching tv and it works with Plex
I'd like to see folder view for Libraries that are "Personal Media." I use Plex to watch Cycling coverage, and have things organized like so:
Root\(Year)\(Event)\Files (may be just one, could be 20+ for a long event)
With the Android app, you can turn on folder view and it's easy to navigate. On XBO, you open that library and you're greeted with everything in the library in one list. It makes it very difficult to find what you're looking for.
Reduce the blur on background images.... to me they are too blurred out and should be more like the web.
Also did notice one bug.... when playing content and bringing up the voice prompt it shows duplicated icons (the back button in the top left)
I will also second the media remote.... its awesome for use with plex.
Another suggestion but not related to this specifically.... After using this I would really like to see the Windows 8 and Windows Phone apps become universal with this one being the basis for the others. To me this is the best app for plex to date.
- when browsing TV shows all you can see is the episode number over each thumbnail and the show/episode names at the bottom over the screen. It would be great if you had the mini summary of the specific episode at the bottom of the screen as well so you dont actually have to click on each episode to find out what they are about!
