I share my Plex server with several people and have a 9MB/s upload, since you added the server end quality adjustment i can steam at 1080P when the server and player are set at 8MB/s. However if the settings are left on the player after watching a 1080P movie (8MB/S) and a lower resolution video is started (720,480,SD) the sever still uses all 8MB/s (Only in shorter transmission segments). Having the server detect the resolution of the video its playing and having it adjust the quality speed on the player-end accordingly would allow more users to view non-1080P using less upload bandwidth. This would be greatly appreciated!
