Im obviously not to much of a plex wiz yet, but hopefully there is someone who can help me out, thanks in advance...

nekiw,

I have the same problem.  I also feel like I've read on this forum people troubleshooting the issue but in a couple quick glances I didn't see anything.  I'm far from an expert but I suspect the issue has to do with PlexConnect's DNS server and/or web server being confused by the VPN altering your private IP to something public.

My way around the issue is to start PlexConnect before I start my VPN.  Without the VPN running, as you note, PlexConnect runs fine.  Then, once PlexConnect is running, you can connect your VPN and PlexConnect should continue to run properly.

It may well be the routing getting messed up but if you are using a VPN to get round geoblocking is there any reason you cannot switch to a DNS based service instead (these work fine with PlexConnect)?

I have the same problem. When using the VPN the script uses the VPN ip address instead of the host machine. There doesn't seem to be a way to configure this in the settings file.

It is not a supported configuration.

Why do you need to run a VPN?
