Hello! Okay, so instead of creating multiple topics, I sorta want to join these two. It seems to me that they happened around the same time.
Thing One:
So, I have my main computer with Plex Server running. After finally getting all my movies to show up and correctly labeled (manually had to match), I noticed I am unable to check for updates while I’m in the server settings. However, I am able to check for updates by right-clicking the icon in my hidden icons but sometimes I would like to choose when I update. Which I think that option is gone as well.
Thing Two:
My Samsung TV updated Plex with the new GUI but than reverted back to the old GUI not even a day later. Yes, I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. My tv is Samsung UN55KU6300. Most recent update for the tv was installed a few days ago. Below is what the new GUI DID look like.
You’re not alone on thing two, my Samsung UE65KS7000 has done exactly the same thing. I even factory reset the TV and reinstalled all smart hub apps and it is back to the old version.
I have the same on UE55KS7580 - the “new look” worked for a day or too, then I had to do a re-install due to massive problems - and got the older version back. Now the older version has massive problems too, resetting the smart hub, reinstalling everything, nothing helps. Players on other platforms are running just fine, this seems to be Samsung related.
Absolutely no information from Plex what is going on - very disappointing.
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix the Samsung problems ??
Hmm. I’m glad it isn’t just me. Maybe it was a oops release? I even also uninstalled everything on the TV. But still old GUI.
For my first issue, I think it was just bogged down. I installed the OS years ago and was just to lazy to wipe the drive and reinstall. Plus, I had a ransomware little bug. I caught it when I noticed my external was really going when I wasn’t even accessing it.
