Our Samsung TV (2017 model - bought 2018) stopped updating around April this year (Final OS update was December 2020). Somebody from a big TV station in Germany told me that Samsung stops supporting TVs after around 4 years, but not the official way. They do not continue to approve and release further updates of apps and let TVs die by time. TV station had created several updates for 2017 models, but none of them where approved by Samsung…
Have resetted Samsung Smart hub and installed/configured everything new.
Now testing to let it ON and wait until it turns off itself. In config it is a fixed time of 4 hours until this happens.
For now it is interesting to say that the Plex app is working and also leaving the app and calling it again is working. The issue seems to be in turning power off and turning it on (controlled by Alexa). Why this first occurred in the night from last Friday to Saturday and never before is very strange to me…
Maybe I was a little unclear, but I meant to just turn on the TV and let it sit in the Tv home menu without playing anything - It should turn off way before 4 hours
Given that you are now running the correct Plex app version and you were using and outdated one before I think you are barking up the wrong tree there…
