Hi All. Newbie here, I’m setting up a file of DVD ripped videos (not commercial) in Plex. I have changes the file names in my computer to be more explanatory. But once imported into Plex these files still show the old file name. It must be imbedded in the videos somewhere. Is there a fix for this, I’d like to use the new explanatory names? Am I doing something wrong here?

Sounds like there’s some metadata that Plex might be reading… Try using MP3Tag to view the metadata of each file and correct what needs correcting…
Hi Jason. This could definitely be the problem. Where would I find this MP3Tag info. Is it in Plex or do I need a specific program to read this? Its doing this on every file I put into Plex.

MP3Tag is a separate program, search google, you’ll find it.
