Trying to import a DVD, Daffy Duck and Friends, that is just a series of shorts. The shorts, which are on IMDB, include:
Duck Amuck
Dough For the Do-Do
Drip-Along Daffy
et. al.
Question is what is the best way to name and catalog a collection like this?
If it doesn’t exist as a collection on TheTVDB, you’ll likely just need to name the episodes as the original series (Looney Tunes) with the appropriate episode information. For example, Duck Amuck is Looney Tunes Season 1953, episode 6. So:
TV Shows/
Looney Tunes (1929)/
Season 1953/
Looney Tunes (1929) - S1953E06 - Duck Amuck.mkv
Looney Tunes
Season 1949
Looney Tunes - s1949e23 - Dough for the Do-Do.ext
Season 1951
Looney Tunes - s1951e26 - Drip-Along Daffy.ext
Season 1953
Looney Tunes - s1953e06 - Duck Amuck.ext
Some of them however show as well as standalone films / shorts…
So you could also name them accordingly and subsequently group them as a Daffy Duck collection
I’m totally confused. Are these tv shows or movies. What would be the proper File name and file structure for the 250 plus Looney tunes Golden Collections Vol 1, 2 and 3 disc 1,2,3 and 4
I started with LOONEY TUNES GOLDEN COLLECTION DISC 4_t02 what do i need to change?
They’re TV shows. There are several examples above showing what the paths and file names should like like for these:
TV Shows/ <--- Your TV shows library will point here, the name doesn't matter
Looney Tunes (1929)/
Season 1953/
Looney Tunes (1929) - S1953E06 - Duck Amuck.mkv
Here’s some general information regarding how Plex expects TV series to be named:
TheTVDB has Looney Tunes organized in year/episode format. So all your season folders will be the year in which the episode was aired. See the examples above.
I’m saying that, in order to be matched and for metadata to be collected, the episodes need to be organized and named in a manner which lines up with what’s on TheTVDB. There are tools available which can help you with this. Filebot, in particular, is very popular in these parts for doing exactly that.
