It would be nice to have a feature to choose which file types are scanned. I used to keep my home videos in a separate folder from the events, but I have started combining the two together so all the media for that one event is in the same folder Media/Pictures. However, I don’t want to view the pictures in Plex, there are too many of them just the videos. It would be nice to be able to include or include file types in a library like removing .jpg from a library.
.plexignore
See Special Keyword File/Folder Exclusion articles in Your Media documentation.
I use it to have Plex ignore movies with DRM. Located in the root of my Movies library (where the Plex library points).
# Ignore DRM movies
Avengers_ Endgame/*
Big/*
Big Hero 6/*
Ghostbusters/*

You could in alternative use subfolder structure:
Event A
- Movies
- Pictures
And only import movies to plex.
But if you don’t want to then the next best thing is the suggested .plexginore and set it to *.jpg (and/or other image formats)
Did you create a photo library or a video library? You can include video in photo but you cannot have photos in a video library/
I switched it to a video library and that worked.
