I’ve been using Plex for a year or so now, and I’ve had several old tv shows (named correctly as far as I can tell) in my files on my computer. Recently, new things have been showing up that I haven’t put on there (Maybe from a streaming service?). Aqua Teen Hunger Force appeared out of nowhere. The problem is, I’ve added new things lately but some of my old stuff has disappeard! I told Plex to refresh the library, but now things are gone. Some were in the Recycle Bin, but some were gone completely. What happened? How can I prevent this?? Any help appreciated! Thanks~!
the only time that plex will delete any files is if you are using the dvr function with an OTA tv tuner (like a hdhomerun or similar) and you configured a show to only keep a certain number of recent episodes (ie delete watched shows or past a certain number of days/weeks/etc).
if you do not have such a tv tuner, then it possible some other application is modifying your files, such as sonarr/radarr or the like.
this actually happened to me yesterday… most of my files are just gone, not in recycle bin , just gone completely, nvidia shield.
It makes me wonder if there’s a setting that changed with a recent update…
actually the latest update was a disaster, deleted my files then refused to scan any new media until i deleted the update to the previous one!
