I noticed while trying to get the anime .Hack into my server, it won’t scan/notice anything with a name beginning with a “.”. Now obviously the simple thing to do is rename them to just Hack or so and it does indeed pick them up and even puts them into the Plex Library as .Hack.
So I was wondering is there a way to make Plex NOT ignore these names starting with a “.” as I don’t really want to change the title of these as they fit the TVDB name styling.
Under Unixoid OS’s/MacOS/Linux (that includes FreeBSD), it is defined that a folder or file name starting with a dot is ‘hidden’.
Since Plex is written to run on many OS platforms, it does obey this convention and ignores file names starting with a dot.
Darn, so in that case there’s essentially no way to have it start with a dot then. Well guess that settles that.
