Filter by video CODEC (for optimization purposes)

Being able to filter by video CODEC would be very beneficial. I’m doing some encoding with HEVC currently…but having my server transcode from HEVC->H264 appears to take more CPU resources than H264->H264. This is holding me back a bit. I’d like the ability to use the media optimizer to pre-build H264 versions of my HEVC media until I can afford to replace more of my clients with HEVC-capable replacements (currently only have 1x Roku 4).

I’d like to know myself which movies have to be transcoded to play on Plex clients. I’d like to save as many CPU cycles as possible. Being able to filter by video format/codec would be a very nice tweak.

Until such a feature is eventually introduced, use Plex2CSV to get you a nice list with any technical property there is.

I WISH! Container and Codecs both. I convert all of my media by default, but having a filter like that could have saved a mountain of time for me…

Please add filter categories for video codec, video container (and/or file type), audio codec.

This would make it so much easier to pre-optimize media which typically will need transcoding.
