Find where to watch something with "Discover" and your "Watchlist"

Gotcha, thanks! Appreciate the quick response.

+1 for being able to remove the region filter. I use a smart DNS service to access streaming services from other regions, so Plex decides that I can’t reach them even though I can

@BigWheel Is there any update on making the “available in your region” filter optional? Discover is a fantastic feature, but Plex deciding what is/isn’t available in my region makes this makes it near useless to me.

Some other users have said that when connected to a VPN to region x, Plex will show services available in that region, but I predominately use a smart DNS service to access streaming services in a number of different regions, so even remaining connected to the VPN isn’t a viable option for me.

Seconding this. An option to select specific streaming services to show, and/or just disable everything but the Plex Library itself, would be great. I have Plex because I don’t want those other streaming services, I wanna just use my personal library… without being having those paid-services advertised to me by a service I already pay for.

You could have a look here, we are asking about this feature since Day 1

Very nice new feature. But it also introduces a new struggle. I already have a huge list of movies and series that I have watched or would like to watch at Trakt. And it doesn’t make sense at all to build up new lists. So please consider a smooth integration with the Trakt service. I am pretty sure that a big part of your user base will have the same struggle.

Unfortunately that’s not the only thing that needs to sync… Plex watch history doesn’t sync either. You can sync Plex to trakt with some tools that are around that require a small amount of work, FYI.

I’m really hoping there will be sync ability, at least to Plex, but other places like trakt & Simkl would be ideal. The idea of logging into your services to get watch history & keep it up to date I think will never happen, but would be the go-for-broke ideal, particularly for things like iTunes & Vudu where you have movies that you purchased, but the Watchlist doesn’t show them as such or let you select “I own this”. Hopefully something will come along, then it really will be ideal, but I can see those streaming partners not wanting a login ability since many people use Plex for less-than-legitimately-obtained titles, so as a company I can understand the reluctance

Can VIU be added to the stream list?

Adding movies that aren’t in your libraries to collections would be a good addition in my opinion.
For example what if I have all the texas chainsaw massacre movies in my plex library but I want to add the netflix one to the same collection?

As of now the Watchlist is completely separate from Server Libraries & there’s good reasons for them to stay that way, but the idea of having Collections in the Watchlist would be a great improvement in my opinion. Ideally it’d be nice to both be able to create your own collections for personal sorting like a “Best of” collection or a “Sandra Dee” collection or a “Kids’ Favorites” or even a “Romantic Comedies” collection, so you have a collection that crosses services, but it’d also be nice if you could add Collections from TheMovieDB or the like. Then you could have the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Collection or the Texas Chainsaw (Reboot) Collection in your Watchlist Collections & when a new one comes out it’ll appear there without you having to add it.

I’d suggest creating a Feature Suggestion for this

Using the watchlist from imdb would be awesome. Maintaining two lists sounds cumbersome.

Are there any plans to add Watchlist to the Advanced Filters?

Finding myself wanting to filter for movies I haven’t seen that are also not already on my Watchlist. (So I can add them without having to guess whether or not they’re already on it.)

@PlexInfo How can I report a title that has the wrong streaming service under “watch from these locations”? In other words, it’s not actually available for streaming from that streaming service.

maybe just drop that info here; don’t forget to include your region/country

Is there a plan to add the ability to select streaming services from multiple countries at the same time, like the Trakt “Watch now” functionality?

Like the idea.

Is there a plan to move also a bit to the functionality of “TV Time”?
Rating easily multiple series and movies, get better recommendations, get stats on time watched, etc.

And do you also plan to scrape data from the streaming providers so that you automatically collect my watched movies and series from them? (Which I didn’t start over Plex)

I would also be fine with having this all behind the Premium paywall.

We’ve kinda been told that that isn’t gonna happen unfortunately. They didn’t say it directly, but pretty much made it clear that it wasn’t happening. The comment that they were replying to was asking about something like what you are, & the reply was along the lines of "No integration with the streaming platforms is gonna happen, but on most platforms you will be able to click the link & automatically open the respective app if it is already installed & signed in" which was responded to with a "That's not what I was asking, I was asking about keeping track of the watchlist" to which they pretty much repeated the same recorded message back.

Just checking in as its been 6 months and I’m still getting there are no streaming services available in your region: JE? I’m based on Jersey, Channel Islands which is a 9 by 5 mille island in the English channel. For the purposes of this and streaming services we’re considered as UK. Although due to our geographic location we routinely have providers thinking our IP’s are in continental Europe.

Being able to manually add titles you’ve bought no various different VOD services would be the logical next step for this “new” Discover/Watchlist-feature.

Though, @PlexInfo or someone like @BigWheel doesn’t care to engage in this thread anymore. Which is a shame, since there’ve been some pretty good suggestions to make this Plex feature more useful.

Right?
I mean I get that automagically getting that information from a login isn’t likely to happen, but still.
I don’t know about anyone else but me personally I don’t add things to those very often.
If I had to once go & add the 400 items I have in Vudu, sure it would be a chore, but I’d only have to do it once.
After that any time I add something it’d be fairly easy to just add it in Plex as well. The initial task would be all I’d be concerned with.
Would I prefer it it was automatically linked? Of course.
But I understand why not & I’ll take what I can get
