Finer control for subtitle position

Instead of just top/middle/bottom, I suggest a finer control where we can move the subtitles up and down in steps (e.g. +/- 10). I’m sure this feature would be greatly appreciated by owners of constant image height screens. Many (UHD) Blu-Ray players such as the Oppo UDP-203/205 support this feature.

Additional thought:
Most subtitles are originally positioned at the bottom, but if there’s already some text in the picture, the subtitles are shown at the top. In order to keep them always visible, I suggest that a positive value shifts the subtitles towards the middle of the screen, and a negative value shifts them away.

Right now Plex displays SRT subtitles to the bottom of the display, rather than the bottom of the video. On a normal display like a tv, subtitles would appear in the black bar in letterbox content, which I personally do not prefer since it involves more eye movement. The biggest issue is if you watch on a 3:2 aspect ratio like a tablet, subtitles appear MUCH lower. Can we get an option to move the subtitles lower? // mod: below video

The lowest position right now for my LG TV is between the black bar and the image itself. It would be better if the subtitles can be all the way in the black box so that it is not covering any of the image. Is this possible? It just doesn’t make sense to have it hovering in between.

I have a PC hooked to a 21:9 screen. Plex HTPC seems to run fine although the menu is in 19:9 aspect ratio. Thank you @OttoKerner, I think these are viable options for HTPC owners. Right now, I’m using the Plex players on Nvidia Shield TV (2019) and Apple TV 4K, that’s why I would really appreciate it if the Plex team would implement these controls in the player apps.
