Fire Cube (3rd Gen) DTS and TrueHD Not working

FWIW, I am running 9.14.0.37895 on a 3rd Gen Cube hooked up to a Onkyo NR6050 and I’m getting the same issues with DTS. TrueHD works great for me though.

I checked the Cube audio troubleshooting page. It says yes to all formats except for NO on MAT which seems to be why TrueHD isn’t showing up as supported. This is wrong though as the Xbox sees it as supported on the bar and plays both TrueHD and TrueHD ATMOS on the same bar. Looks like Amazon must have messed something up.

Took client logs of both issues. One TrueHD being transcoded and DTS-HD MA playing but skipping and popping and making the video freeze.

Found another pass-through issue. AAC also does not pass-through correctly. The cube says its directplaying AAC but the soundbar reports that the cube/plex is transcoding it to DD-Plus.

Any updates on this? Seems like something that shouldn’t take months and months to adjust/fix. :grimacing:

It’s Amazon or the SoC manufacturers fault. The FireTV OS(or drivers) and I guess most AndroidTV OS/drivers are just buggy junk. If you look at the Kodi github there are a million workarounds which they have to apply for almost every single SoC or platform. If you need this to work now I would use Kodi. For these codecs their IEC packer seems to work for almost everything.
