Yes this worked for me on both my Fire TV sticks.
Initially tried Apps2Fire but that kept failing. After a bit of searching around Easy Fire Tools does the job a dream.
Do we know (Plex) when the upgrade to fix this will be available please?

I’ve had this issue on and off for about a year now, only happens on FireTV devices. Sometimes it will go a week with no problems and others it will crash 2-3 times in the same show.
I’ve tried every setting there is but nothing seems to work. There must be something in the Amazon implementation of the Android OS as it is appears to be fine on other Android devices.
My solution has been to set up Jellyfin server on the same machine, all 3 TV’s in my house have a FireTV device so we watch Jellyfin at home. I still run Plex for my non-FireTV remote users and Plexamp on Apple Car Play, but as Jellyfin develops more player clients I’ll be everyone moving across.
Hi I am having the same problem with Amazon fire stick first after 10-15min plex would crash, now a lot of movies on my Samsung smart TV using fire stick will not even launch on tV. They work fine on Windows PC on Plex. Is their a solution to this problem???
Having the same problem on my Fire Stick 4K. Can’t believe something this basic as an issue with playback is still unresolved after 6 months!
Had similar problems with Apple TV a year or two ago that took forever to be fixed. I really think these kinds of issues need to be fixed a lot quicker.
Might have to give Jellyfin a go, as beginning to lose patience in Plex.

Interesting that this is still happening. I went back to whatever the latest Amazon version of the app is several weeks ago now and the issue has not repeated. I’m using the 4K sticks.
I actually think my issue may be slightly different. It doesn’t occur when playing a single video. It only seems to happen when a few episodes have played back to back, then it always freezes at the end of the video.
If I leave it frozen for 2-3 mins it starts playing again, otherwise I have to back out and start things again.
Mainly noticed it playing Peppa Pig for my kids, as they’re only 5 mins long, and after every few it stops, which is annoying.
