Hi,
didn’t find any solution about this problem. I have a fire tv stick 4k and would like to play a movie (direct play) with dts audio at home. Surely I know that’s not working. But why isn’t plex trying to transcode the audio file? So I have no possibility to look a film with dts at home from my fire tv stick 4k…
Plex client version? See https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/devices/android
The Plex app for FireTV devices was recently updated to 7.30.2.x. Make sure you have the update.
What do you hear? No sound, garbled sound, etc.
To what is the FireStick attached - TV, receiver, etc?
What is the audio setting on the FireTV Stick 4K? Best available, Dolby Digital Only, etc.
In the Plex app, what is the setting for Passthrough?
The version from my fire tv stick 4k is 7.30.2.16712.
It is not possible to start the movie.
There is only a fault.
(An error occurred while trying to play the video. Please try to restart the plex media server and the app)
My plex server runs on a ds718+ from synology.
My fire tv stick runs direct on my TV and the sound goes to 2 echo studios.
I can’t find any settings for the best available on my fire tv stick
Passthrough is deactivated.
I also have this problem with my Huawei P30 Pro. There I have the settings for the best available but I have also the problem when I change the settings.
I have the same problem, DTS is not supported by the Plex app on my FireStick 4K.
The solution I have found is to use the Plex add-on for Kodi, which is able to direct play DTS without problems.
