im at a loss, i use plex all the time, but my trouble is when using firefox to stream plex onto my lg lcd tv, (hdmi).
the plex app for the browser causes it to, sometimes, flash black then back to screen then to black… and it wont stop. reset wont fix. videos are in deffernt formates, and its only a problem sometimes. but super frustrating. the videos play fine without the plex app at all, with no changes. funny thing is when using the plex app on my ps4, to the same tv with the same vids (but ps4 app instead of web browser) its never a problem. so i think its in the firfox/plex issue?
i really dont know what to try next. i think ive tried everything, including transcodeing to another format and still the same thing is happening.
Don’t use the web app when playing on the big screen.

sorry, my computer is pluged into my big screen via hdmi, the puter is running the web browser, not the tv.
the tv isnt “smart” so i been useing the plex web browser as its the only app for windows 7?

Yes, I understand that.
My recommendation still stands.
The best results you will achieve with the standalone Plex Media Player, set to its ‘tv fullscreen mode’.
A web browser is not an ideal video player.
It only supports very few video codecs
it cannot adapt the refresh rate of the screen to the video file
it cannot “pass-through” surround sound formats over HDMI to the TV/AVR
