If I play any of content with Plex for fireTV, then my plex server transcoding all contents.
contents was encoded HEVC or H.264… and its bitrate was 2~10Mbps.
but strange thing is plex add on for KODI runs ok with direct play above all contents.
so I have tried to install old android apk(7.30.2) and play. but it shows Error with “An Error occurred while attempting to play this video…” mesage. but If I turned off “Enable new video player” in same old app(7.30.2), then all above contents successfully plays with direct play.
I think, player has some problem. anyone can recover it?
There must be something wrong. I’m with the latest release, and it’s working fine. Are those files have subtitles(ass,pgs)? If yes then try playing without it. You can check the log or playback info also. It will tell why it is transcoding.
I have download it (from apkmirror.com), and install it. but it did not start app.
If I run this app in my firestick 4K, it shows PLEX logo but app clsosed and shows launcher screen.

I have tried several contents, and some contents has srt subtitle, and some contents doesn’t have any subtitles. but it always transcoding. strangething is older app(7.x) with old player works good(no transcoding, subtitle shows ok) and PLEX for KODI add on works good.
also these contents works good(without transcoding) in my android TV and android phone, and iPhone.
Today I have found an update for my firestick 4K. (Fire OS 7.2.5.5)
and it works properly!!!
All above contents are play without transcoding.
I don’t know previous version of my firestick 4K. but i think, there are something wrong with OS.
