FireTV app: Cannot mark entire show or season as "watched" or "unwatched" since last update

I feel your pain.

I too have noticed the inability to mark an entire season as Played or Unplayed. I am, however, able to mark an entire series as Played or Unplayed. ** NOT ANYMORE: See update below!! **

I have Fire TV app version 8.6.0.2351 (e97d660a).

  • Side note: The app version number can be found as a watermark in the lower right side of the screen while you are in the Settings page. (I know, it is not intuitive and someone had to tell me were to find it. Apparently, having a standard Version icon under Settings was not a plex choice!!!)

I am able to mark an entire series by selecting the Go To Show option under More (three vertical dots) in the episode/season view. From there, the expected Mark as Played or Mark as Unplayed is the second option.
@heliosphere, let us know if this is the same for you. Cheers

To @plex, this still leaves the option to mark individual seasons unavailable.

  • If this is a bug, please fix it.
  • If it was an oversight by the developers who created the merged episode/season view, please correct it.
  • If it was a deliberate choice to drop, I strongly urge you to reconsider. It is a very handy feature.
  • Do not post any answers or links how to mark seasons as Played or Unplayed from the GUI. I am quite sure everyone reading this thread is fully aware how to manage their libraries in the GUI. This thread is directly concerning the Fire TV device and its current interface.

UPDATE:
My Fire TV has since updated to 8.7.3.21018 (2a2e4762) and no longer marks an entire show as Played or Unplayed. Now it simply crashes the app.

I too very much miss the ability to mark a season watched/unwatched. The new scroll sideways to find episodes is poor in comparison to the older interface.

same with nvidia shield , seems there are loads of problems recently
