Marking seasons as watched or unwatched

The recent improvements to the AppleTV UI are generally very positive.

I’m stuck on one thing.

How do I mark a season of a series as watched or unwatched?

If you go into the top navbar to “Overview”, the play button is for the next up and the “Mark As Played” button will do the entire series, which is fine.

If you move over on the top navbar to a “Season”, the play button is for the next up within the season (as highlighted) but the Mark As Played button only affects that one episode.

It kinda feels like that there was an attempt to flatten the season UI to handle episodes without an intermediate layer, but that this has wiped out the ability to mark a season as watched or unwatched.

If you return to the series overview screen, highlight the desired season, and long-press, you can mark it as played from the menu which pops up.

Oh, wow, that does work. I had tried highlighting the season on the top navbar and doing a long press, but hadn’t tried the exact thing you suggested. Hopefully there will be some more intuitive way in the future. Most of the UI changes have been a nice step forward, but this was a bit jarring.
