Hi everyone, I would like to use GEO restriction on my firewall. I can use set it by country and would like to use this option.
I have not been able to find any information on which country\s I would need to place on the allowed list for app.plex.tv or plex.tv.
I have tried the usual suspects, USA, UK, Canada, Australia.
Any help is appreciated.
The list of IP addresses you need to allow are listed in your server’s log files right after Plex starts.
With DEBUG logging enabled,
Look for MyPlex.
You will see where PMS determines your server’s IP address.
It will then talk to Plex.tv’s servers and determine which one is best for you.
You need to allow those IP addresses if you wish to have Remote Access working.
Plex’s servers are located in different countries. There are are few in the US IP block (East and West) and a few more in Europe (East and West).
With a little time examining your logs, including the metadata scanning logs, you’ll quickly find the IP addresses to allow.
