I can use my iPhone to control all my Plexamp instances (rpi, etc) EXCEPT for my desktop. My desktop Mac is incidentally where the Plex server is run from. My mobile Plexamp can see the desktop Plexamp instance, can see what it is playing, but can’t control it.
I noticed in my router logs that I have a firewall rule that is being triggered which matches my desktop and phone IP addresses. I tried disabling that rule and sure enough, I can now connect.
The rule is a which drops packets with an invalid state. I don’t know a whole lot about firewalls, I’m sure I found this somewhere as recommended. I’m assuming all I need is a rule ahead of that which allows plexamp remote traffic, but I’m not sure what that should be. Any ideas?
