Fixing/replacing the database WITHOUT losing all the metadata?

Server Version#: 1.24.5.5173
Player Version#:

I’m trying to fix a major issue with my Plex Server. After the last update, running a library scan on “TV Shows” causes the server to crash. My Live TV/DVR isn’t working, the content posters no longer display anywhere on Plex, and my Roku player won’t play anything.

From what I’m reading in the forums, it might be that the latest update causes the database to be corrupted. Since I have not gotten responses to this issue on the forums after multiple tries, I’ve decided to just try to fix the database, or remove/rebuild it.

What I want to know–if I do this, will I lose all the metadata? For example, I set up a lot of “extras” from TV show DVD sets as extra seasons of the show. Will this all be lost?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

After doing research elsewhere, I was able to revert to an earlier version of the software, and the problems appear to be over. This was made more difficult because Plex hides previous versions.

Since I got zero responses on the forum, despite posting multiple messages over the last week, I’m wondering if there’s a different place to get support.
