I recently installed Plex Media Server on my Windows 10 PC and have imported my music library. I can stream my FLAC audio files over DLNA to devices that support FLAC, but they fail to play when I try to stream them elsewhere. On my Dish Nework Hopper receiver, I can navigate to the files, but get a “This file cannot be played.” message. On my LG TV, it won’t even display the FLAC files to attempt to play them. In both cases, I can stream MP3 audio just fine.
Is there something I need to do to setup Plex so that it will stream native FLAC to devices that support it, while transcoding to MP3 for other devices? Thanks!
