I’m a complete newbie to Plex and have recently setup Plex Media Server on a Shield Pro 2019.
Its been running fine for a month or so and then yesterday the layout of my folders changed and I’m not sure what I’ve done or how to get them back to the previous look.
They previously had the folder and movie titles below the preview thumbnails and now they are written over the centre of the thumbnail.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
I haven’t experienced this on the my shield. Do you have all multiple movies nested inside one folder, instead of each having its’ own folder?
Also there is a way to display folder view in libraries, I have never used it but here is some info on viewing libraries in Plex.

Thanks for the link. I don’t have them in separate folders as I have so many that it was just too formidable a task to do them all. I basically just used the folder structure and “other video” designation.
It was working well until this strange folder setup happened. May be a corrupt database, still looking for a solution.
You don’t need to have your movies in individual folders unless there is only one movie in each. Once you have more than one movie in a folder it is ok. I have folders for some collections (batman, musicals, clint eastwood, godfather, etc.) and I dump those movies there. Other films are in folder by alpha.
But make sure the library is set up as movies instead of video. That may result in what you are seeing.
Are all of your videos Movies or do you have TV Shows and home video mixed in there too?
If they are all Movies I would suggest creating a new library using the Movie type.
Keep the library you have for now, just as a backup.
I don’t know what they’ve done, but the latest update has made the folder view on Fire Sticks and Chromecasts almost unusable. As OP has screenshotted, the folder names are on top of the folder icon now, and the same color, making the folder names illegible. I hope Plex fixes this soon!

What concerns me is up until 2 days ago it was completely fine and had been so for over a month.
Then it just changed and I thought I had inadvertently checked some setting which caused the issue but I don’t think this is the issue.
Same problem here - on Firestick 4k.
