I believe this should be changed to a reasonable episode count, rather than 20% of the season, there are many shows, particularly in anime, where many intros can be contained within 1 long season. Say for example one piece, there is over a thousand episodes and 23 openings, all in a single season. Another example would be Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, which has 64 episodes and 5 different intros, so most of the openings get ignored. My proposition would be to change it to a number of episodes (say 5-10?) rather than a percentage of said episodes, or for edge cases of mini-series/seasons, perhaps a percentage for those, and for seasons above x episodes switch to number of episodes for intro detection. I also remember hearing that outro detection is on the way, so I would hope for something similar for that as well.
If this is the case, then I support this idea. I have no shows that change intro often enough (that I know of) that Plex fails to detect the intros for, but I expect it to work even if the intro changes mid-season.
I have FMA:Brotherhood, but I haven’t watched it on my Plex yet to see if its intro skip is broken…
