I have downloaded exterenal eubtitles from opensubtitles.org and named the file accordningly from the Plex guidelines, however when playing 'the offering 2022" with the forced setting in place, i have english subtitles playing throughout the move with the english language - it is not displaying the forced subtitles when foreign language is spoked. Double checked the settings - what am I not correctly doing here?
Would you mind sharing the exact naming of the video and subtitle files as well as your audio & subtitle preferences?
Does Plex detect your external subtitle and show the forced subtitle as the selected item for that movie?
Have you double checked the file actually contains the forced subtitles — not a full set of English language subtitles?

SRT subtitles are basically text files that contain lines of subtitles preceded with a line of technical metadata ([#] [start time] -> [end time]).
You can open the file with a regular text editor (e.g. Notepad if you’re on Windows) to check their content.
Your file seems to contain the subtitles for the entire dialogue of the episode.
I remember users complaining that finding actual forced subtitles on pages like opensubtitles.org can be a pain but I’ve got no personal experience with that myself.
