I use forced subtitles for my foreign TV shows. I put the SRT file in the same folder as the matching MP4 file.
This works fine when streaming from PMS to my iPhone but, when I download the show to my iPhone, the subtitles no longer appear.
My guess is that Plex either does not download the SRT file alongside the MP4 file, or that it does but the player does not bother checking for forced subtitles when playing local files.
It strikes me that this is a pretty big oversight when you consider how many people, globally, use subtitles. It is also an accessibility issue.
