Forced Transcoding Panasonic

Hello everyone,
I just bought a Panasonic 4K HDR TV model TX-55FX633E and I installed Plex being present in the store, only when I go to use it I can’t see it because it forces a transcoding in 1080p from any format, it’s impossible to visualize also the 4k since always in 1080p strength.
Is it a TV problem or is there a problem with the app or particular setting?
the files are normal h264 / 265 that were previously viewed without problems by a MiBox3

Server Version#: 1.17.0.1841
Player Version#: 3.13.21

first go @ Plex, 4k, transcoding, and you and read the entire thread

second, go to @ Plex Web > settings > dashboard and post a screenshot of a 4k movie playing in 1080 on your tv

you can paste the screenshot directly into a forum reply

i read the entire thread and I respect all the points described.

second, this is the screenshot of a 4k movie plays in 1080

Ok cool, it looks like your audio is good and no subtitles are enabled (HD audio and subtitles are the most common causes of 4k transcoding).

It says local, so that is good.

I would check the plex settings on your tv, look for the ‘quality’ options, make sure ‘local’ quality is set to maximum/original.

is that an android tv smart tv? or does it use some kind of custom app store or what?

@ Plex Web > settings > console (down bottom left) > you can monitor the logs when trying to play a video, and use the filter to look for lines which have MDE in them, they should help explain why plex is deciding to transcode.

Hey,
In case anyone stumbles onto this thread: I have the exact same problem as OP. And it seems that I am not alone… I guess the Panasonic (My Home Scree 4.0) Plex app is just buggy…

Oh, well, I was thinking of getting an Nvidia Shield anyway.
