Forced transition to new Plex version (formerly Preview) on Samsung Tizen TV

These types of forced transitions that, as far as I can tell, are not strictly necessary, just so you can effectively force an asthetic upon us, never bodes well for the customer of a company. This is the start of a very slippery slope. I wish more users were as agitated by this as I am. I strive for efficiency, which requires a reliable workflow. The current interface isn’t perfect, but the new one is literally a WIP and, as a dev of over 20 years, believe is NOT ready for widespread adoption. I’m sick of watching my fellow developers succumb to the temptations of making every one of your customers a beta tester. Google pioneered the concept…they hear from me FREQUENTLY about it and have lost thousands in business from me as a result. I’ve been slowly, but surely, cutting Google out of my life because I should be the one to decide when I beta test something…especially if it is something I’m paying for - GSuite, YT Premium, Plex Pass; I pay for software because I’d like to also be paid for the software I develop.

This seems to not matter to Plex anymore, just as it never really mattered to Google, or Amazon, or Microsoft. It’s a sign you’ve gotten so big and popular that you’re immune to legitimate criticism and the wishes of the customers who pay you because the inertia of the consumate mass will let you do what you want. This is about the time I start seeking or developing an alternative. Plex’s time may have finally come, since this is currently one of several unaddressed complaints from myself and others on this forum. I wonder how much of this forum they actually bother to read anymore? It doesn’t generate money for them, so probably not much of it. :man_shrugging:
