So not sure this was ever suggested, couldn’t find it so here it goes.
My most desired feature to be set up on server side and visible to all family and users is to add possibility to have a ‘sticker’ or ‘overlayed tag/demarcation’ on movie/tv show poster with included language and subtitles.
The intention is to have a clear information right off the library view on what language of audio and subs is included and/or embedded in the media file.
I do appreciate this is probably a niche request as only non-English speaking viewers would somehow benefit from it. But running a server for my family and friends who mostly do not speak fluent English I get a lots of questions ‘why do you add a movie without local audio/subs to the library?’. My answer is I just add newest available content without checking first what audio and subs are available;). But that at many times creates a bit of confusion of that is actually
available for digestion.
Yes, I am aware that this is somehow available once you click on the movie and there you can see a summary of details on the media file including available audio and sub tracks. But the reality is that 99% of users are just not even that ‘tech savvy’ to even bother looking for details in the description. Therefore a clear overlayed tag on each poster with these details would make it so much simpler.
I could even bother with manually setting this if embedded language/subs are not adequately described in a file, as long as some for of this feature is available for use.
My poor visualisation of how I imagine this could look like (again apologies for my sparse Photoshop skills;) is shown in the photo below.
