@vanstinator and Classic forum for plex is winning this race atm

Excellent work thank you
I have not read every post from last 12 hours but i am not seeing the forum category name on the list of topics in Recent Discussions view. It is white on white may be - next to the time for each topic listed

Yup I see it, I’ll fix that. I set a style somewhere the got inherited by every link and I need to figure out where so I can better target colors. The evils of working until 2 A.M. I suppose. Patched!

I also realized an “answer” post was colored totally off, so I’ll fix that. Patched!

Glad all of you like it! I’ll gladly take some suggestions now. For instance, what do we do with avatars on the list of discussions now. I’d rather it shows who commented last on the right side, but that’s not gonna be possible with CSS.

Thank you - don’t worry. no rush.

This would be excellent. That’s 1 of the things I miss from the old forums a button to show who was the last poster and that button to take u directly to the latest post.

Excellent work so far tho @vanstinator your skin/theme is defiantly the best so far

Just noticed the graying-out of the seen topics. Brilliant - well done. Like it

I just edited my original post #1 in this thread.

Thanks for the fix. Working nicely

How many lines is your code?
I can only copy 15 - is that all it is?
Don’t have enable button for your style

Yes that is all there is. it is very basic.
you must name it in the editor window.

I just noticed that, using your theme, the Preferences/Edit My Thumbnail page has a white background, and I can’t figure out why.

Can you post a screenshot? I’m headed out the door but I can look at it this evening.

this particular page assigns a class “thumbnail” to <body> which overrides the background color set in the general html, body rule in line #1.

edit line #1 to read html, body, body.thumbnail {background-color: #323232;}

Yours looks excellent too but I am struggling to read the orange text on the grey background.
And also just noticed when I preview my post there is loads of grey text on grey background (second picture)

I thought the orange looked fine, but I see what you mean. I’ll see if I can find a shade of orange that is easier to see with the grey.

On the preview, yeah, I didn’t check that screen. I’ll fix it later when I get a chance. Thanks for the report.

Can the Avatars be changed from a circle to square view if possible? I find the circled Avatars to be distracting.

add the following line to the user css:
.ProfilePhoto, .Discussion .Author .ProfilePhoto, body.Rank-Employee .MeBox .ProfilePhoto { border-radius: 0px !important; }

YES!
(How do you guys know this stuff? I’m envious).
That really helps remove the whole “Ball-Pit-Fast-Food-Playground” look and feel to me.

Thanx.

Having dealt with CSS before definitely helps to know what is possible with CSS at all.
this website is a good source http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css_selectors.asp

Then use the developer tools that are built into every major browser nowadays to find out which css rules are in effect for a particular element on a page.
(In Firefox try a right-click on the avatar picture and select ‘Inspect element’ for instance)
the inspector launches and shows that the first css rule applied to this picture is a border-radius of 1000 pixels. the user css just sets this back to 0 px. :slight_smile:

There are people that have no life and spend all their time working on discovering/creating cool ways to do things. As opposed to those of us that simply have no life. ;))

Of course Plex contributes greatly to the vegetative existence of a lot of us or maybe not a vegetable like existence but one emulating a certain mammal (Garfield) with minimal effort and movement.
