Style update again.

  • Missed the NAS subsection page (cannot tell read from unread so everything is marked as unread (orange)
  • Fixed quoted text in comment and preview screens
  • change width of attachments so you can see more of the filename, also changed coloring

Problem resolved - was my fault.
Now all 4 styles have this setting:
Applies to: URLs starting with htttps://forums.plex.tv

Previously i had a mixture of : URLs starting with, URLs on this domain and 2 wrong = URL
All changed some forums.plex.tv to https://forums.plex.tv on this setting line
So all consistent now.

It is interesting it allows you to apply multiple styles at same time !

Yeah. You could for instance separate the rule for square avatars into an own style and activate that independently from the other stuff.

@vanstinator Names invisible for Accepted Answers
OK on the other 3 styles (otto / moviefan / blue)

Very nicely done!

I figured this was more productive than whining about it

@sa2000 That’s probably due to my rewriting of styling for links. I’m switching it up so that I can better target those corner cases. I’ll patch that up in my next release.

I’m using @vanstinator 's last update and the name shows for me:

No @sa2000 is right it’s not showing up. I modified a line and it’s good now. I think I’ve got most of the corner cases for links solved. I’ve got a parent style that says do gray, and another beneath that that says do white. There are a few cases that are more specialized that I’ve manually overridden now. Probably still not done completely clean but it’s workable for now.

In that regard, anything else people want to see in this skin? I’m running out of ideas.

@MovieFan.Plex I’m not seeing any good way in the NAS category page to view read or unread. We’ll likely need to ignore this for now. We should probably make a list of “nice to haves” and see if we can get some developer love to make skinning more viable.

Alright so the latest release is out.

  • Coloring for various links fixed
  • a few elements here and there with better lineup
  • squarish images. there’s a 2px rounding on the corners. In the future this will be an option on the userstyles install page.
  • fixed the ask question form as everything was hidden by the background.
  • a green border in a thread view around images when that user is online. Open to suggestions on how to best display this…

Ok one more post before I go to bed.

I think we should try to track these a bit better. I have no idea if there is any sort of demand among forum users for this, but it’s at least worth getting them all on userstyles.org so they’re easily install-able by your average user. I’m hoping @elan or another mod will all us to create a subforum to start threads in for each skin. While I don’t expect them to change much once we get them complete it’ll be nice to have a support hub for the inevitable vanilla forum changes that require attention. I’m of the opinion more skins is better considering the complete bare-bones system we now have, but maybe I’m getting into this too seriously. I’m always a fan of options.

I like your idea. Unfortunately, I did something wrong (I guess) in my CSS and UserStyle won’t let me upload it. Something about using a global value or something along that line. I definitely remember the world global in the error.

In stylish hit edit on your script and then “To Mozilla Format”. Copy that output into userstyles.

Sweet! I grabbed it so I can now more easily steal your good ideas. evil genius laugh

^^ Anytime buddy.

A few more updates. That will be it for tonight. I’m out of ideas now too.

  • Highlight Announcements with a different color
  • Highlight currently selected category/discussion
  • Few more missing color fixes
  • Changed Accepted Answer and matching in-line post headers to green

Can’t remember if this was on your list to things still to do - Popular Tags and Who's online not showing - for example on the Recent Discussions view

and one more @vanstinator
Contrast issue between text and background on search results

Can the square color overlay image indicating a user is online be changed from green to orange.

I actually prefer the green… Orange means so many things and just blends in to the overall scheme.
Green makes more sense to me.
Perhaps this should be yet another “user” setting?

IMHO I’d rather it blend in with the overall theme and not stick out like a sore thumb. A “user” setting for this is a great idea. Really enjoying the new and improved look of the Plex Forums.

Understood, hence the “user” setting.
(At least it’s not flashing or something totally obnoxious).
