Can’t remember if this was on your list to things still to do - Popular Tags and Who’s online not showing - for example on the Recent Discussions view
They’re actually turned off in the style. You can turn them back on by eliminating the following:

Alright so the latest release is out.
a green border in a thread view around images when that user is online. Open to suggestions on how to best display this…
I put a border-radius on the green outline, too.
This is actually a great discussion to have, what should be user options. I agree both of the above should be.
The green I like because it symbolizes activity or something, the orange would be less clear. The shade of green can be changed, I just dropped in the CSS “green” to see how it worked.
I took out the Popular Tags and Who’s online because I find them annoying, but that can be another user option. One we get a list of 4-5 things I’ll start putting them in. I’m also going to use the opportunity to clean up my stylesheet.

Curious if I can edit the color on my own. What line in the Stylish code covers this and what is the code number for orange as seen below?

The color is FF8B00 and the line is .Online .Author .PhotoWrap {padding:3px; background-color:green}
Went with the orange and really like the look. So it looks as though a user setting for this would be helpful to users that want a blended look to the theme. Thanks for providing the necessary info to achieve this.
So this whole exercise has been my first foray into Stylish, and I’m not sure how some things will work. It just occurred to me that I could use your style, and keep a second style with little tweaks of my own, so they don’t get overwritten every time I install an update of yours. Will that work? What if there are conflicting elements?

It is unclear. I found that it is dependent on the order in which you activate the styles. But this won’t stick when you restart the browser.
You could try to set the !important declaration in your style. But this will only help you if the other style hasn’t set it already on that element.
The best solution is to erase or comment out the elements of the original style you don’t want: /* Square avatar pictures - erase the following line if you want them circular */ /*.ProfilePhoto, .Discussion .Author .ProfilePhoto, body.Rank-Employee .MeBox .ProfilePhoto { border-radius: 3px !important; }*/
the second line which makes the avatars square is commented out by css comments /* */
Erase the comment markers to put it back into effect: /* Square avatar pictures - erase the following line if you want them circular */ .ProfilePhoto, .Discussion .Author .ProfilePhoto, body.Rank-Employee .MeBox .ProfilePhoto { border-radius: 3px !important; }

Yeah, that’s pretty much what concerned me.

That’s what I’ve been doing. I was hoping to get away without having to edit the style every time I updated. Oh well, just a thought.
@vanstinator: I just noticed a couple of cosmetic issues in the Advanced Search.
The first problem is, when you start typing in the Author field, the first item in the auto-matching list is almost invisible (white on near-white).
The second problem is the Examples text for the ‘of’ field, which goes outside the boundary of the box. However, I turned off all Stylish styles, and this is a problem in the native page as well.
That date is actually borked on the standard style too if I remember correctly. I’ll look at the font issue.
I’ve started digging in to the user settings on userstyles.org and it’ll do everything we want it to do it looks like. It should even let you update your skin with your own variables. I’ll dig into that more this evening and hopefully push an update with these fixes. For now I’m signing off.

Yep, I mentioned that.

Looking forward to your discoveries!
So I was logging in to start working on user customization and I noticed my skin was weird. I turned it off and I noticed the stock skin has changed a bit. Anyone else seeing this as well?
Also @elan got back to me and it sounds like the team is looking to decrease the amount of forums. In that light does it make more sense to just get this thread stickied somewhere with a more descriptive title? We can share support duties here, and track changelogs and updates via userstyles.org itself.
I’m planning on fixing it, but I’m first trying to figure out the user options on userstyles. It’s not working and I’d like to get it working so in subsequent updates we can test how those options update over.
Got it! You can now set the image border radius and the online indicator color on userstyles.org. These settings appear to carry over between updates and only switch back to default if the site detects you do not have the skin enabled. You can also go to userstyles to change them at any time and it’ll give you an updated version of the skin with those variables. Next on my list
The sidebar - make each of the modules hideable
fix the assorted coloring issues raised today
the notification popups have yet to be themed, I’m going to theme them
