FREENAS 11.2 Where is the Plex Media Server data directory located

Server Version#: FREENAS 11.2
Player Version#: LATEST PLUG IN 1.14.1.5488

I tried to manually update plex and i seam to have broken it. I have a ton of movies and stuff on there with metadata and manually inputted data for fam videos. If i re-download the plug in can i overwrite everything but the plex media server folder or do i need to just copy the plex media folder to a new plex plug in?

This should contain the info you need.

As long as you can still access the jail the data dir should be there…

how did you manually update?

This link for the location of the Plex Server data files is not correct for FreeNAS 11.2.

Can anyone tell me what files (and locations) are need to backup a FreeNAS 11.2 Plex server to make sure I don’t loose all info on users, played and un-played status, etc.

Thnx,
-TAC

It is located in the Root folder under Plex Media Server

Can you be a little more specific?

I looked in my Plex jail and don’t see a folder, I looked in /mnt/Data1/iocage/jails/plex/root.

If you open webtools and go to the Techinfo tab, the directory in the field PLEXLOCALAPPDATA is the location you’re looking for.

Where is webtools?

/usr/local/ plex directory should be there or in /usr/local/share/

Webtools is a plex plugin. It let’s you install other unofficial plugins.
