Plex Media Server Backup

This question is for people who made TrueNas plex servers. The below links only helped with FreeNas and I couldn’t find “plexdata” files mentioned. I want to Be able to save to an external device, just for my own piece of mind. Thanks!

Is there a way to save the way your library is organized so that in the event you need to recreate it, you can do so from a “backup”? does that make sense?

Ex: All the time and effort used for saving movie posters and editing movie names, years(released), etc.

I’ve looked at the following links:

The directory locations are not impact by whether you are using FreeNAS or TrueNAS, but they are impacted by whether you are using the IXSystrms plug-in or just have Plex installed in a plain jail.

Poster not updating on my new server setup

It’s /mnt/JAILDRIVENAME/iocage/jails/PLEXJAILNAME/root/usr/local/plexdata-plexpass ( if you’re doing this from within the jail it’s just /usr/local/plexdata-plexpass ) If you didn’t move it somewhere else it’s using this default location. You might try applying a chown -R plex:plex to this, in case the files are not all owned by Plex so it cannot modify them right now. But I wouldn’t worry about that until you can reach the server from the local IP at least.
