Fresh Windows 10/Plex install, copied backup PMS, Plex crashes on launch!

Hello!
My C drive crashed and I had to reinstall Windows 10. With a fresh download and install of Plex, I copied my Plex Media Server backup from another drive, but now Plex crashes immediately upon opening. I consulted the Move an Install to Another System page, but my registry doesn’t appear to have the same "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server" as seen on the Copy Additional Server Settings From the Source System help page, so I don’t know if registry stuff is the issue. I’m not experienced with the registry, though, so there’s always a chance I’m doing it wrong.

Happy to follow up with any pertinent information (though I can’t successfully launch Plex to get the version info).
Thanks so much for any help you can provide!

post your server logs?

Happy to but not entirely certain which are needed? Despite the article I can’t see any option for Settings > Manage > Troubleshooting in the web app (I also could not find the advanced settings for turning off automatic trash deleting when I tried to follow the initial Move Your Install post, so not sure if I’m not seeing full options for some reason?).

So I went with the Find Logs Manually option – here’s a shot of the files I see under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Logs. Happy to upload whatever is of use.

Please zip that entire folder up, and I can take a look.

Absolutely. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do, and thank you so much for your help!

(Bigger than the max file upload size here so I’ve broken it into parts.)

Ah, interesting. This page is a little above my expertise level (well, a lot) but I’m going to dig in step by step and see what I can do. I’ll report back hopefully soon. Much appreciated!

So, taking a look at this, I don’t seem to be able to find Plex’s SQLite. I’m running 64-bit Windows but there’s no entry at all for Plex under Program Files (x86). I do show Plex under Program Files, but there’s no SQLite.exe under C:\Program File\Plex\Plex Media Server.

I’m using Plex-1.48.2.3124-647ff031-x86_64, freshly downloaded, so it seems strange to have not installed anything under x86?

One other note: I also have an earlier backup of a Plex Media Server. The one I’m currently trying is from C: Windows.old, so I thought it’d be fresher. I don’t mind reverting to the a few-months-ago one, but when I tried it, I had similar issues (couldn’t access libraries, couldn’t access full settings on web app, etc.). I’m more than happy trying a fresh fresh install and copying over that earlier PMS if that’s more trouble-shoot-able.

Thank you!

I think that is the player version, not the server app. The server is 1.27.xx

Well. Yep. That was it. Absolute rookie mistake and I’m incredibly grateful that you took the time to help me get it spotted. May you have many excellent movies in your future.
