Friends and users - Sharing library, not profiles

I am new to plex and loving this but I am having a little bit of an issue understanding the “friends” access.

When I launch plex on my apple tv i see a list of all the people i have shared access to my library. 2 friends dont living in my house so i dont want to see their profiles listed as a login option when i open my apple tv as i will never want to pick up where they left off in a movie. Thats a little bit of an annoyance but the main problem with that is that my friends now have access to my profile with my permissions and can make changes to media server even though i have not granted them admin access. If they log in with their account credentials then click on my profile, they are able to manage my server without ever knowing my credentials. I see the option to add a pin but i dont want to have to type in a pin every time I am trying to watch a movie on the apple tv or my kids are trying to watch a movie on the apple tv or their kindle fire. Seems like the only way to share library is to burden my household with a pin everytime we launch the app.

Any ideas how to enable friends sharing but not have the other profiles visible or available to anyone on the server? I am trying to share my library, not my profile.

If you are seeing their logins on your devices then you’ve not just made them friends, you’ve added them to your “home” which is a level over and above just being able to share your library with them, i.e., you’ve given them more access than you needed to.

That was it. thank you!! that was very annoying. I didn’t realize the subtle difference between add user and add friend. was difficult to tell the difference when added. I removed all users and added everyone back as friends. Thanks a million!
