Is there anyone/thing I can reach out to in order to get some more EPG data going? Not really sure how to push that along but I’m happy to ping someone to get their attention to it if there is a centralized place

Yep I said centralized not centralised. Rogue American-raised kiwi on the forum oh no!

Hi Folks,

Is there any satisfactory EPG data you are using currently? I find the build in Freeview EPG is still lacking and the Freeview XMLTV file gets imported incorrectly, shows are missing, some shows show up as movies instead of shows etc. Quite frustrating. On the other hand, I have Channels running on my Apple TV 4 and 4K and that data…from the same source I believe, is perfect. So, very confusing as to what is going on here. I thought it might be the “Enhanced Programme Guide” miss categorising things when searching for the extra info, but even with that disabled it still misses shows and categorises them as movies etc.

thanks

Trevor.

I’ve using the in built (gracenote). It still misses a bit but it’s slowly getting better.

I’ve just checked the setup I use with the Channels app on the Apple TV 4 and it is pulling the EPG from the built-in one…i.e. from the DVB-T signal. Then it appears it is using Gracenote to fill in the blanks. Whatever it is doing, it works.

Orly. I haven’t read anywhere that it’s using eit data. I thought it’s was all download from gracenote.

Otherwise the data should be the same as if you import and xml file, which should have been generated from the eit data.

I have just moved back from the UK and was using the hauppauge wintv-quadhd without any issues.
As soon as I tried it in Auckland it is not finding any channels at all. I have tried the cable on a FreeView box and it works straight away so not cables or signal.
I have also tried several other applications with no luck. soo stuck!
