From within Plex TV App: Play via DLNA

4K support is limited within Plex at the moment.

I instead end up playing my 4K content through DLNA (also served by Plex) since my TV supports alot more formats than Plex does.

If I’m not misunderstanding completely and if it’s technically possible I would like an option to play a given movie via DLNA within my TVs Plex app.
So either native support for DLNA playback within the Plex app or a feature that passes the movie onto the TVs native DLNA functionality.

I believe there is some misunderstanding.
DLNA is a protocol how the server/client speak to each other. By letting the Plex client “talk DLNA” with the server, it’s still the Plex client and bound to the capabilities it can utilize.

Sometimes DLNA clients are provided by the platform vendor and have more resources to direct play your content (which might not be available to other apps). Sometimes there’s actual restrictions in the app.
Plex has no feature to play media in an external player (like the LG’s DLNA client / videos app).
