Just looking to see if this is possible with the way FSEvents and the scanners work in Plex:
I have a large library and an “update library” to PMS can take 5+ minutes to add a single show and/or movie.
I know that the FSEvent notification from the OS only tells Plex that there was a change within the “root” library section, but couldn’t Plex keep the mtime of the “newest” subdirectory of the library section and only scan subdirectories with newer mtimes?
This seems like it would be greatly more efficient both from a disk-slamming and time perspective.
I’m hoping the answer is more developer time and that it could be added to the roadmap, as opposed to there being a technical limitation.
