I know this has been posted before but it was all regarding Windows 10.
Microsoft has come a long way from Windows 10 to Windows 11 in the HDR department.
Will you guys finally be able to enable HDR on Windows?
HDR is being used by more and more people and I do understand that you don’t develop for a very small user base but that is not the case anymore for HDR.
Comparing the image quality between Plex and VLC is a true and utter dissapointment since you don’t support HDR but not only do I want to watch my HDR movies in HDR but also do NOT want to switch my PC to SDR output everytime I want to watch a movie.
It’s been four or five years aready. Come on guys! It’s getting truly ridiculous…
There’s already a number of suggestions addressing certain specific areas – though they seem to have been abandoned at some point during the discussion.
The discussions I’ve found where all when W10 was still most current Windows version.
As I’ve stated at the very top of my feature request and in the title, I wanted to bring it up again, now that Windows 11 is out and if that maybe solves the issues the Plex team have enabling HDR on the Windows app.
It’s really frustrating to have payed a good chunk of money for the Plex Pass and an enormous amount of money for my HDR monitor and not being able to watch my HDR movies in HDR.
It really feels like a lazy oversight that there is no HDR on the Windows app. It’s almost 2022…
