I need this in my life.

The request is only a few years old.

August 2012! 5+ years

I just dont understand how this has gone this long and nothing has been done about it.

I wonder how much money it would cost Plex to buy Trakt, the data they’ve collected, and the techs that keep it running? Should we GoFundMe a hostile takeover? /s

Especially now considering the plugin is dead.

The Trakt.tv plugin has been updated to v1.3.3 version

Yes please! This would save a lot of headache of me trying to figure out the plugin the server!

Given Plex’s latest choice to abandon Plugins, this is more important than ever IMO.

just voted, given the latest news

+1 Trakt and Sub-Zero are the two plugins I don’t want to see go away
Or have some solution for them to still work flawlessly

Yes I depend on the Trakt plugin and would hate to see its loss, some official integration to plex would be wonderful

Did I get it right that the Plex devs just want to force the plugin devs to move their plugins “out of Plex” as standalone “programs”? Tautulli was explictly mentioned as an example, which already works like that and does use some kind of API . So this seems to be doable for other plugins also, they “just” have to be adapted (I guess a shitload of work) before they are removed after the grace period which now has started.
It does not seem to be the end of the world to me.

It’s totally possible and doable. but due to the fact that the current plex trakt plugin dev is AWOL and the plugin hasn’t been updated in a long while makes me worry for the sake of future trakt integration

I feel you, depends on how long it takes to actually kill the plugins. Maybe we can ask @SwiftPanda16 if he can bake trakt support into Tautulli, would be awesome
Since I use a Shield as PMS I can’t use Plugins anyway, Tautulli I can run on another machine.

As I said in another thread, trakt is my only link to media sanity. I have 3 active servers (just cancelled #4) which all get used for various reasons. I have needed to rebuild Plex on Windows, Ubuntu and docker, none seem to be compatible and trakt kept track of what was watched.

Recently I all but moved to Emby which of course supports trakt natively. It was lovely just being able to select the next episode of whatever I want to watch
Then going back to Plex and find things up to date there too.

I’m afraid that if trakt.tv is no longer going to be supported by Plex in the future, my relationship with Plex will end as well
Not that anyone cares, but I still do

Based on the Tautulli sub-reddit

“Assuming that Trakt has an API you can report plays through, you could write a script that queries the Tautulli API and sends that on to Trakt.”

And considering that trakt DOES have an API, specifically for syncing

https://trakt.docs.apiary.io/#reference/sync

"As a baseline, all add and remove sync methods accept arrays of movies , shows , and episodes . Each of these top level array elements should themselves be an array of standard movie , show , or episode objects.

It seems that ‘someone’ would just have to write the Tautulli script and off we go

Well I’m not sure if it was @SwiftPanda16 or the previous dev, but way back, they self created a github issue for this exact scenario

Here’s hoping. :grinning:

Trakt is where I track all my shows and movie watching, in and out of Plex. Integrated scrobbling, like with Last.fm would be perfect, especially now plugins are being removed.

I would love this.

I use Trakt, since starting to use Plex the end of January '18 it’s nearly priceless. Without it integrated
now that plugins are going away, I’m back on a server that still supports it, and eventually if it isn’t integrated, oh boy. I have everything in mkv containers and don’t want to move to another solution for my media. I like the way Plex works overall, just don’t prefer the Android app and the way things have been added that I don’t care about and the ONE plugin I have being Trakt
 bad news indeed.
